Unable To Display Images In Published View or Dashboard

Issue

An image in a published view or dashboard does not display.

Environment

Tableau Cloud

Resolution

Ensure the option Include External Files is selected when the workbook is published to the server. For more information, see Publish Workbook ("Include external files" section) in the Tableau Desktop Online Help documentation.

Cause

When external files are included, a copy of any referenced external file data sources or background images is published along with the workbook. External files include Excel, Access, Text, Data Extract, and image files. If these files are not included, other users might not be able to see the worksheets online
