Avoiding Scrollbars on a View in a Dashboard

Question

How to prevent a horizontal scroll bar from appearing on a view in a dashboard.

Environment

Tableau Desktop

Answer

Option 1

Increase the width of the container for the view. Expanding the width of the container might prevent the horizontal scroll bar from appearing.

Option 2

Configure the sheet to fit the entire view. This will scale the view to the size of the container and might prevent scroll bars from appearing.

Entire View Button

Open the drop-down menu for the selected sheet and select Fit > Entire View.

Additional information

Note: You can set "Fit Height" for a worksheet to avoid the vertical scrollbar but depending on the amount of data in the worksheet, the viz may be displayed too small. This is just a tradeoff between the design and the data volume.
