Wait for the background job that upgrades thumbnails to high resolution to complete.Cause
Beginning with Tableau Server 2019.1, workbook thumbnails have been upgraded to display in high resolution. Older workbook thumbnails are stretched to fit the new size and will temporarily appear blurry until the image for the thumbnail is automatically updated to the high resolution version.Additional Information
Depending on your deployment and amount of content that needs to be updated, the amount of time for this task to complete may vary.To speed up the process of upgrading thumbnails to high resolution, the number of backgrounders can be increased without restarting Tableau Server through configuring nodes in TSM. For more information on how to add backgrounders in this way, see the Configure Nodes section in our product help guide.
The following calculation can be used as a general guide for how long it will take for Tableau Server to upgrade the workbook thumbnails.
Upgrade Time in Hours = (Number of Workbooks * 34.3) / Number of Backgrounders / 3600
34.3 is an estimate of processing time per workbook in seconds based on internal upgrades
3600 converts the units from seconds to hours
