Issue

When connecting Tableau Desktop to Salesforce, the following error occurs:

An error occurred while communicating with Data source 'Case(abiomed.my.salesforce.com)'
Bad Connection: Tableau could not connect to the data source.
Error Code: F024F6FE
Error starting OAuth Server , process exited. Exit code: 4. Exit status:0. Error code: 5.

Resolution

Repair the Tableau Desktop installation

Navigate to Control Panel\Programs\Programs and Features.
Select Tableau Desktop in the list of programs.
Click Uninstall/Change.
In the Modify Setup window that appears, click Repair, and allow the repair process to finish.
