When connecting to a file that contains full-width Non-ASCII character (such as "①" and "1") in the file name from Tableau Prep Builder 2023.2, the following error message appears or the data load does not finish:

"System Error: TableauException: Canceled"

System error: An error occurred while communicating with data source 'LoomDataSource' System error

  • Tableau Prep Builder 2023.2.0
  • Flat Files that contains full-width non-ASCII character in the file name
  • Windows OS (OS language and locale is Japanese)

Upgrade to Tableau Prep Builder 2023.2.1 or newer. Or as a workaround, remove the non-ASCII characters from the file name.
