Viz in Tooltip not Appearing Once Published to Tableau Cloud / Tableau Server

Issue

When putting the tooltip text in a calculation field and adding the field to Tooltip like the image below, Tableau Desktop could show the Viz in the tooltip.

However, after publishing this workbook to Tableau Cloud / Tableau Server, the Viz in tooltip just show as TEXT instead of a View.

  • Tableau Server

Resolution

Workaround

Add [?:render=false] to the end of the URL in Tableau Cloud / Tableau Server like the below URL.
https://10az.online.tableau.com/#/site/xxxxxx/xxxxx/xxxxxx?:render=false
 

Cause

This is a known issue that is under investigation.
