Viz in Tooltip is cut off when display scale is not the same for multiple monitors

Issue

When setting a Viz in the tooltip, the Viz can be cut off and part of the view will not show completely in the tooltip when the display scale is different with 2 monitors.

If the display scale of the main monitor is set to 100% and the second monitor is set at 125%, the Viz on the tooltip on the second monitor can be truncated.

Example Tooltip setting:

A partial Viz is displayed in the tooltip:

Environment

  • Tableau Desktop
  • Windows
  • Display Scale
  • Multiple Monitors

Resolution

Please check the Display setting in Windows for both monitors to see whether the Display Scale is the same or different.

If the main Display Scale is 100% and the second monitor has a larger scale such as 125%, the Viz in the Tooltip on the second monitor will expand and some parts are cut off in the second screen.

As a workaround, please set the same display setting for each monitor.

Cause

This issue is related to the Display Scale setting when multiple monitors are used and the display scale is different with 2 monitors.

Additional Information

When multiple monitors are used on Windows, these settings can be configured individually on each monitor, and you may not realize that the Display Scale is not the same for all the monitors, which causes some displays to fail.
