Unselecting all Values in a Cube Filter Still Shows Data in the View

Unselecting multi-select filter leaves data displayed in the worksheet.

  • Tableau Desktop 10.4.0 - 10.4.2
  • Microsoft Analysis Services (MSAS)

Option 1

Upgrade to Tableau Desktop 10.4.3. For more information, see Upgrading Tableau Desktop in Tableau Help.

Option 2

If upgrading is not possible, as a workaround remove the condition formula from the filter, since the condition should still be applied from the condition formula of the set.

Using MSAS as a data source, if the same formula condition is defined on both a filter and its underlying set, deselecting (All) will fail to exclude members. This is a known issue (720227) that has been fixed in later versions of Tableau Desktop.

Additional Information

The filter comes from a set with a conditional formula, and the filter will contain the same exact conditional formula.
