Unable to Log into Tableau Cloud Using SAML After April 15, 2021

When attempting to sign into Tableau Cloud using SAML after April 15th 2021, the user receives an error message similar to the message below and is unable to sign in

Your account or password is incorrect. Please try again or click Forgot Password

Option 1: Re-upload XML metadata to Tableau Cloud
Please follow Step 4 in the Enable SAML Authentication on a Site article

Option 2: Make sure assertions and certificates are both signed using the SHA-256 algorithm.
If assistance is needed with updating signature algorithms to sha-256, please contact your identity provider.

Option 3:
If neither option 1 or 2 resolves the issue, Create a case with Tableau Technical Support for further investigation.


An update was made to Tableau's SAML configuration on April 15th, 2021.
