Resolution
Switch to the username and password authentication. See below for steps on how to identify which data sources and data connections need to be changed as well as steps on how to change the authentication method.Step 1: Identify which data sources and data connections need to be changed
- In Tableau Server or Tableau Online, click Explore in the navigation pane on the left
- Select All Data Sources in the drop down menu
- Change to Show As: Connections
- (if needed) Change to View as list using the View As drop down directly next to the filter icon. This view will display a list of owners
- Click the filter icon on the far right
- Under the Data Source drop down filter, select All data sources
- Under the Connection Type drop down filter, select Anaplan
- In the resulting list, look under the Username heading and take note of all data sources that have values of "signInType":"certificate"
Step 2: Change the authentication method for each affected data source
For published data sources
- Connect to the published data source in Tableau Desktop
- Right click the published data source and select Create Local Copy. Save the file anywhere on your machine
- Right click the published data source > Close
- Right click the local copy > Rename > remove (local copy)
- Right click the data source > Edit Data Source...
- Click the drop down carat for the data source under Connections in the upper left and select Edit Connection...
- Change the authentication method to username and password and enter the appropriate credentials
- Navigate to a worksheet and right click the data source > Publish to Server...
- Overwrite the existing data source on server
For embedded data connections
- Open the workbook in Tableau Desktop with the embedded data connection to Anaplan
- Right click the data source > Edit Data Source...
- Click the drop down carat for the data source under Connections in the upper left and select Edit Connection...
- Change the authentication method to username and password and enter the appropriate credentials
- Republish the workbook
