Option 1

In the Windows Trusted Root Certification Authorities, confirm that VeriSign Class 3 certification authorities exist.

If the certificates exist, they may be out of date. To update them, visit the Microsoft Download Center and search for updates to root certificates. Download and install the update for your Windows version.

For more information, see Manage Trusted Root Certificates in Microsoft TechNet and Microsoft Download Center.

Option 2

Work with your IT team to disable User Account Control (UAC) for the user account. After disabling UAC, reinstall Tableau Reader.

Option 3

During the install process, access to the Root Certification Authorities store may have been denied. Work with your IT team to complete the following steps:

  1. Move the workstation's organizational unit to a different Active Directory work group.
  2. Initiate a clean uninstall and reinstall of Tableau Reader. For further information, reference similar steps from Completely Removing Tableau Desktop
  3. Place the organizational unit back in the original Active Directory work group.

The digital signatures of some Tableau Reader core files cannot be verified because of an untrusted VeriSign certificate.
