Teradata Connection Never Successfully Connects

Issue

When attempting to connect to a Teradata data source, the connection never resolves after entering credentials. There are no errors.

Environment

  • Tableau Desktop
  • Teradata

Resolution

Option 1
Use the IP address of the Teradata source rather than the friendly name to sign in.
 
Option 2
Work with your IT team to troubleshoot how DNS names are resolved. The following third party resources may be helpful:
