Tableau Server / Tableau Desktop Trial Ended Early

Error message appears after having activated a Tableau Server or Tableau Desktop trial:
"Starting the trial failed [...] Your trial for this version has ended"
The solution is to contact the Tableau Account Manager you worked with earlier to get a trial extension key. Account Managers can be emailed via this Contact Us page, if the user does not have an Account Manager.
