After changing Run As user credentials, or adding or modifying a worker node, in a distributed environment, the Tableau Server process (tabsvc) might become marked for deletion. Additionally, the following error message also might appear in the server log files:

RuntimeError: The driver encountered an unknown error: org.postgresql.util.PSQLException: Connection refused. Check that the hostname and port are correct and that the postmaster is accepting TCP/IP connections.

  3. If required, repair the Tableau Server installation by the following steps:
    1. Open a command prompt as an administrator
    2. Navigate to the Tableau Server bin directory
    3. Run the following command: tabadmin init --i
