Issue

When using Tableau Desktop or Server 10.5 or later versions and Spectersoft / Veriato 360 monitoring software, Tableau's hyperd.exe process quits unexpectedly. This may manifest in the following ways:
When performing a query to the Data Engine, you may be notified that the query could not be completed.
or
You may be notified that the connection to the data source was lost and asked if you would like to reconnect it.

Environment

Tableau Desktop 10.5 and newer versions
Tableau Server 10.5 and newer versions
SpectorSoft 360 or Veriato 360 employee monitoring software
.hyperd.exe

Resolution

Option 1

Update SpectorSoft 360 / Veriato 360 to the latest version.

Option 2

Exclude all Tableau Desktop processes, including hyperd.exe, from SpectorSoft 360 / Veriato 360.

Cause

SpectorSoft/Veriato 360’s " svrltmgr64.dll" is injected into the hyperd.exe process, causing it to crash.
