Tableau Desktop for Mac Stops Responding After Signing in to Tableau Server

When signing in to Tableau Server from Tableau Desktop for the Mac, Tableau Desktop might stop responding. Subsequent attempts to open Tableau Desktop result in the same behavior. 

Additionally, the following error appears in the Tableau Desktop logs:

4664-20b3f MSG
    TNetwork: Failed to load credentials. Error message: 'The specified item could not be found in the keychain.'.

  1. On the Mac where Tableau Desktop is installed, navigate to Applications > Utilities.
  2. Open the keychain access tool.
  3. Select Passwords.
  4. Delete any stored logins for Tableau Server in the Login and Local Items sections.
