Switch Outermost Dimension Labels to Bottom of View

When using two dimensions on the Column shelf, the outermost dimension labels are automatically placed on top, and the innermost dimension labels on the bottom. There is no option to switch these labels without changing the grouping of the marks.

The following instructions can be reviewed in the workbook attached below.

As a workaround, try the following:
  1. In the data window, right-click the dimension used as the outer dimension and select Duplicate
  2. Right-click Region in the columns shelf and clear the Show Header selection. 
  3. Drag Region (copy) to the right of Department. 
  4. Navigate to Format > Borders
  5. Under Column Divider, adjust the Level slider.  


The ability to swap outer and inner dimension labels is not currently available in Tableau Desktop.
