Subscription Link in Email Broken

When clicking on a subscription link in an email, the link might not work or might direct you to an incorrect page in Tableau Server.


Tableau Server


Verify the Tableau Server URL is correct in the Configure Tableau Server utility.
  1. In Windows, click Start > Tableau Server <version number> > Configure Tableau Server.
  2. Click on the Email Alerts/Subscriptions tab.
    • Fo Tableau Server 10 and later versions, click the SMTP setup tab.
  3. Verify the URL in the Tableau Server URL field is correct.
  4. Click OK.


The Tableau Server URL is incorrect, therefore links sent in email do not link to Tableau Server correctly.

Additional Information

After clicking the Tableau Server URL, if you are redirected to the homepage of Tableau Server rather than the view, please verify that the Tableau Server URL (for links in emails and subscriptions) setting on the SMTP tab of the "Tableau Server Configuration Utility" settings contains http:// or https:// at the beginning of the URL.
