Subscription Images Show Stale Data when Using Dynamic Parameters.

Issue

The subscription renderings, i.e. either the preview image or PDF, can contain stale or incorrect data if Dynamic Parameters are used. This can manifest in different ways, notably including incorrect dates for queries.

Potential workarounds:

Option 1:

Use a modified version of the affected view/s for subscriptions, which does not utilize Dynamic Parameters

Option 2:

Set subscriptions to send after an extract is refreshed by selecting "When Data Refreshes" under "Frequency." See Step 8 in Create a Subscription to a View or Workbook > Set up a subscription for yourself or others

Cause

This issue is related to a Known Issue in Tableau Server with ID W-12865572, which is currently under investigation with Tableau Development for resolution in a future release. Use

Additional Information

This issue specifically affects subscriptions. When navigating directly to the view on Tableau Server, and when using the link to the view from the subscription email, the current accurate data will show based on what is in the data source at the time of the load.
