Stale Data Displays When Refreshing Extracts Created from Published Data Sources

A data source shows that it has been successfully refreshed by Tableau Bridge, but stale data is still seen in the connected workbook.

  • Tableau Online
  • Tableau Bridge
  • Extracts

  1. Open the published workbook in Tableau Desktop.
  2. Ensure that the workbook is connected to the published data source, not a copy.
  3. Right-click the data source and uncheck "Use Extract".
  4. Republish the workbook to Tableau Online.

When Tableau Bridge refreshes an extract of a published data source, it queries the published extract which is local to Tableau Online. The workbook will query the local extract created from the published connection, rather than the published data source itself.
