Snowflake Extract Creation Not Completing

When trying to create an extract of a Snowflake data source, the extract creation process may not be completed, even after many hours.

To troubleshoot this issue, try the following options:

Option 1 - Update the Snowflake driver installed to the latest version

Option 2 - Use SnowCD (Connectivity Diagnostic Tool)

Option 3 - Run the extract query in another query tool that uses the Snowflake ODBC driver and is installed on the Tableau Desktop computer
  1. Find the extract query in the Tableau Desktop log files using the Tableau Log Viewer.
  2. Run the query in a query tool that uses the Snowflake ODBC driver, such as WinSQL (64-bit), to see how long the query takes to complete.
