Set a Default Start Page for a Specific Subset of Users

Issue

Site admins are unable to set a custom landing page for a specific subset of users. For example, a group of users, for users in a specific site, or for users of Tableau Mobile.

Environment

Tableau Server
Tableau Mobile
Tableau Desktop

Resolution

Use one of the following alternatives:

Direct users to set their own start page. To designate a different start page for yourself, navigate to the server page you want (such as Workbooks), click your name in the upper right corner of the page, and then click Make This My Start Page.
Set a custom start page for all users as server administrator. To designate a different start page for all users, navigate to the server page you want (such as Workbooks), click your name in the upper right corner of the page, and then click Make This the Start Page for All Users
Provide users with the link to the desired location on Tableau Server and have users navigate to this location directly

Cause

It is currently not possible to set a custom start page for a specific subset of users.
