Issue

After upgrading Tableau from an older version such as 10.5 to 2018.2 or 2018.3, then refreshing a workbook which uses custom titles derived from SharePoint lists in the joins, the refresh fails with the following message:

"com.tableausoftware.nativeapi.exceptions.DataSourceException: undefined binding [Customer list].[Customer Name_Title]"

Environment

  • Tableau Server 10.5.12, 2018.2.7, 2018.3.3 and earlier versions
  • Tableau Desktop 10.5.12, 2018.2.7, 2018.3.3 and earlier versions

Resolution

Upgrade to Tableau Desktop or Tableau Server 10.5.13, 2018.2.8, 2018.3.4 or a newer version.  Click here for downloads of current and previous versions of Tableau Server: Tableau Server Downloads and Release Notes.
