IssueWhen accessing your site on Tableau Online that is configured with SAML, Tableau Online prompts for a username.
ResolutionTo workaround the prompt for credentials, create a bookmark or application link that will bypass the Tableau Online login page when using SAML. After configuring SAML for Tableau Online, copy the URL found under Settings > Authentication in the Assertion Consumer Service URL field.The URL should look like: https://sso.online.tableau.com/public/sp/SSO?alias=<alias key>Replace the "SSO?" with "login?" i.e. https://sso.online.tableau.com/public/sp/login?alias=<alias key>Use the URL link as a bookmark or application link in your IdP portal for accessing applications. Then, flow should be as follows: Navigate to modified ACS URL.Redirected to IdP for login (alias defines where to redirect).Redirected to Tableau Online, logged in.
CauseThe ability to bypass the Tableau Online login page when accessing Tableau Online using SAML is not currently built-in to the product.
