tsm maintenance preflight-check permissions triggering errors in other nodes in the cluster

Issue

When executing command tsm maintenance preflight-check permissions, Tableau Server returns with the following error:

Check: Permissions -- Warning: Error Executing Check
            com.tableausoftware.winldap.dll.TabWinLDAPException: Server Down

Environment

  • Tableau Server 2022.1.9
  • Windows Server 2019

Resolution

Check and make sure the client certificates are installed on all nodes.
If the client certificates are not installed on non-primary nodes, installed them on all nodes. 
 

Cause

When non-primary nodes lack Client Authentication Certificates, Tableau Server will fail to authenticate and connect to the LDAP Server, resulting in a pre-flight check error within TSM.
