If the Same Flow Connecting To Data Sources via Tableau Bridge Live Connection is Run Repeatedly in A Short Period Of Time, Latest Changes in the Database are Not Immediately Reflected To the Flow

Issue

On Tableau Cloud, when repeatedly running a flow connected to a live data source (such as MS SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL and etc) via Tableau Bridge, subsequent runs appear to retrieve the same data as the first run, ignoring up-to-date changes in the databases.
 

Environment

  • Tableau Cloud
  • Tableau Bridge
  • Live Connection
  • Bridge Online schedules

Resolution

There are 2 possible workarounds:
  • Option 1:
Change the connection type of data sources from Live to Extract and refresh the extract before running the flow.
  • Option 2:
Restart Tableau Bridge to clear the cache before running the flow.

Cause

This is a known issue, W-13523647, that is currently under investigation by the development team.
