Flows Published via Prep Web Authoring with TabPy Scripts Fail to Run on Tableau Server

Issue

When editing a flow using web authoring on Tableau Server and uploading a TabPy script file, the flow fail to run on Tableau Server. If the same flow is published from Tableau Prep Builder, then it runs successfully on Tableau Server.

Resolution

Upgrade to the latest maintenance releases for Tableau Server: 2020.4, 2021.1, 2021.2, 2021.3, 2021.4, and 2022.1.

Cause

This behavior is caused by a Known Issue, ID 1371640, which is corrected in Tableau Server 2022.1 and later plus maintenance releases.

Below error will be noticed in flow processor logs:
Error when computing node hash com.tableau.loom.extensibility.fileSystem.FileSystemScriptException:
The Specified script file doesn't exist. Browse to select a different script to run.
