Filter values with Japanese characters are not displayed even though the matching data exists in MySQL data source

Issue

When you select a value with Japanese characters in the filter, the matched data (filter value) is not displayed even though there are some in the data source. 
The issue occurs when the data source is connected to MySQL 8.0.32 using Japanese double-byte characters.

Environment

  • Tableau Cloud
  • MySQL 8.0.32

Resolution

Upgrade MYSQL to 8.0.33 or later.
