When creating a local copy of a published data source, if any calculated fields in the data source have user functions such as ISMEMBEROF(), then the name of the calculated field will change to Calculation_XXXXXXXXXXX in the local copy.

Tableau Desktop 10.2.3 and later versions

Option 1

Upgrade to Tableau Desktop 10.4.1 ; 10.4.2 10.3.6 or 10.2.8. For more information, see Upgrading Tableau Desktop in Tableau Help.

Option 2

  1. Create a local copy of the data source.
  2. Close out the default copy that Tableau Desktop connects to.
  3. From Tableau Desktop, connect to this new data source
  4. Locate the downloaded copy in the folder directory.
If you connect directly to the downloaded copy, either opening it directly or connecting to it from TD, then the names appear as expected.

This behavior occurs when the calculated field has a User Function and is related to a known issue (ID: 693763) which has been fixed in a recent release of Tableau Desktop.
