The following error occurs when adding a field assigned a created geographic role after importing custom geocoding.

Environment

Tableau Desktop

Resolution

Verify the csv file and if Latitude and Longitude field names are in lowercase, change the first letter to capital/uppercase.
e.g. "Longitude" and "Latitude".

Latitude and Longitude fields of the import file (.csv) were not recognized as geographic role because the field names were all in lowercase.
