Published: 06 Mar 2020 Last Modified Date: 20 Oct 2020
When attempting to publish a flow output set to Extract to Tableau Server, the following error occurs:
Unable to publish extract because the Tableau Server credentials are missing for one or more output steps in the flow.
Tableau Prep Builder 2020.2 and older
Command Line Interface (CLI)
Open the flow and ensure the Output steps are all properly configured with the same Tableau Server credentials that match the .json credentials file, save the flow, then re-run from the command line interface (CLI).
Open the flow.
Go to Server > Sign out.
Sign back in to Tableau Server/Tableau Online with the same username & password as the output connection part in the credentials.json file.
Navigate to the Output step(s).
Ensure the correct server is set for the output step(s).
Go to File > Save the flow.
Run the flow again from CLI.
The Output steps in the referenced flow do not include Tableau Server credentials that match the credentials from the .json credentials file.
If it's still failing with the same error, make sure the Tableau Server user in the json credentials file is a part of the Tableau Server site being published to in the output step(s).
