Issue

When attempting to publish a flow output set to Extract to Tableau Server, the following error occurs:
Unable to publish extract because the Tableau Server credentials are missing for one or more output steps in the flow.

Environment

  • Tableau Prep Builder
  • Command Line Interface (CLI)
  • Tableau Server

Resolution

Open the flow and ensure the Output steps are all properly configured with the same Tableau Server credentials that match the .json credentials file, save the flow, then re-run from the command line interface (CLI).

Steps:
1. Open the flow in question, and navigate to the Output step(s).
2. Sign in with Tableau Server credentials
3. After signing in, save the flow.
4. Run the flow again from CLI.
 

Cause

The Output steps in the referenced flow do not include Tableau Server credentials that match the credentials from the .json credentials file.
