    Error "Tableau Data Engine Error: 40451: SimpleDatabase" Extracting Data

    Issue

    When you try to create an extract, one of the following errors might occur:
     
    An error occurred when communicating with the data source.
    Tableau Data Engine Error: 40451: SimpleDatabase::CreateTable

    OR 
    An error occurred when communicating with the data source.
    Tableau Data Engine Error: 4: SimpleDatabase::CreateTable

    Environment

    • Tableau Desktop
    • Antivirus software

    Resolution

    The following step might resolve the issue:
    • Work with your IT team to disable antivirus software or to exclude Tableau Desktop from the scan.

     

    Cause

    Antivirus software is blocking Tableau Desktop from extracting data.
