When attempting to connect to connect Snowflake with Tableau desktop via Oauth, an error occurs:

SSLHandshakeException No subject alternative DNS name matching found.

  • Tableau Desktop 2020.4 or higher

Please work with your IT team to try the options below:
1. Check the certificate of your site and make sure Subject Alternative Name (SAN) includes your site.

2. Check if there is any proxy server which is intercepting the Snowflake certificate in your environment.

If there is any proxy server in place then It's possible that the proxy server can intercept the Snowflake certificate and this may also cause the certification verification failed.

The issue could be caused by:

1. The Subject Alternative Name (SAN) of the Snowflake site's certificate doesn't include the site name.
2. Proxy server is intercepting the Snowflake site's certificate
