Error code: 2F0F5E42 Occurs When Using Custom SQL with InterSystems ODBC Data Source
Published: 27 May 2022 Last Modified Date: 30 May 2022
Issue
Error occurs when using Custom SQL to connect to InterSystems ODBC in Tableau Desktop 2020.2 and later.
Environment
Tableau Desktop 2020.2 and later
Tableau Prep 2020.2 and later
InterSystems ODBC
Resolution
Upgrade to Tableau Desktop 2020.4.18, 2021.1.15, 2021.2.13, 2021.3.12. 2021.4.7, or 2022.1.2. Upgrade to Tableau Prep 2022.1.3 or later.
Cause
In Tableau Desktop 2020.2 and later, the query which is created by Tableau to run the Custom SQL entered by the user uses the table name "Custom SQL Query". In earlier versions of Tableau Desktop, the table name was "Custom_SQL_Query". Because the underscores were replaced with spaces, InterSystems database reads the "Query" part of the name as a SQL reserved word and an error is thrown.
