Error "No License found for 'TableauDesktop'" after Updating macOS

Issue

After updating macOS (operating system), you may get prompted to activate Tableau Desktop, and the following errors may occur when activating your product key:

No License found for 'TableauDesktop'  

Or

Trusted Storage Not Initialized

Environment

  • Tableau Desktop 2019.2.2 +
  • Mac OSX 10.14+

Resolution

Follow these steps to resolve the issue:
  1. Close any open instances of Tableau Desktop.
  2. From the Mac OS X desktop, hit Command+Shift+G
  3. In the Go to Folder dialog, enter: /Library/Preferences/FLEXnet Publisher/
  4. Rename the FLEXnet folder.
  5. Start Tableau Desktop and activate your product key.
