Issue

When accessing Tableau Cloud in a web browser, the following error may occur:

NET::ERR_CERT_COMMON_NAME_INVALID

Additionally, the following error may occur in Tableau Desktop when connecting to Tableau Cloud:

Server's certificate does not match the URL.

Tableau Desktop

Resolution

As an initial troubleshooting step, try restarting your router.

If the issue persists after restarting the router, work your networking team or Internet service provider for further assistance with troubleshooting this issue.

Cause

An issue in the networking environment is causing the browser to receive an incorrect SSL certificate for Tableau Cloud.
