Issue

Impala extract refresh fails, and the following error can be seen in the Backgrounder Tasks for Extracts administrative view:

  • Cloudera Hadoop Hive

Resolution

Work with your DBA to increase the database's memory limit. 

Cause

This error is an Impala error message which is passed through and displayed in Tableau Server, indicating that the database has reached its memory limit.
