Clean up the PostgreSQL data by using the tabadmin command.
  1. Open a command prompt as an administrator.
  2. Navigate to the Tableau Server bin folder. For example:
    •  cd "C:\Program Files\Tableau\Tableau Server\<version>\bin"
  3. Run the following commands:
    • tabadmin stop
    • tabadmin cleanup
    • tabadmin start
    • tabadmin cleanup
  4. Sign in to Tableau Server.
  5. Navigate to the Status page. If there is more then one site in your Tableau Server Environment, you will need to select Manage All Sites from the sites drop down box and then go to the Status page.
  6. Click Rebuild Search Index button at the bottom of the page.
  7. Access the Server Activity and User Activity views.

To do the same with TSM please follow this steps:

Open a command prompt as an administrator & run the following commands:
  1. tsm stop
  2. tsm maintenance cleanup
  3. tsm start
  4. tsm maintenance cleanup
To rebuild the search index please use this command:
