Error "incorrect Data Type" Is Returned When Opening Certain Views In Tableau Cloud

Issue

After the 2019.3 release, when accessing certain views with a live connection to a cloud-hosted data source the following error occurs:

Unknown Server Error TableauException: Incorrect data type

Environment

Tableau Cloud 2019.3
Live connection to cloud-hosted data
ceiling functions

Resolution

To work around the issue, use the below options.

Option 1 Edit the [Time Of Day] calculation to divide (and/or modulo) by 60.0 (which is a real) instead of 60 (which is an int).

Option 2 Extract the data source and republish it to Tableau Cloud.

This issue has been resolved on Tableau Cloud.
