Published: 06 May 2015 Last Modified Date: 24 Aug 2022
Issue
When running the tabadmin licenses command, the following error might occur:
Warning: Inconsistent core count
Environment
Tableau Server
Hewlett Packard (HP) ProLiant Gen 9 server with Intel Xeon E5 2600v3 processors
Resolution
Update BIOS on the computer running Tableau Server, and then change the NUMA Group Size Optimization reporting option to "Flat" as described in the HP documentation below.
System firmware of Hewlett Packard ProLiant Gen9 servers is creating Windows system conflicts.
Additional Information
Possible consequences if the system firmware does not get upgraded:
If Windows cannot correctly determine the number of cores available, then Tableau Server will not be able to use all of those cores, resulting in performance degradation.
An inconsistent core count might trigger a licensing issue, which might disable access to Tableau Server.
