Tableau Prep 2018.3

Option 1:

Upgrade to Tableau Prep 2019.1.1 or a newer version. Click here for downloads of Tableau Prep: Tableau Prep Downloads and Release Notes. For more information on current releases, see Install Tableau Prep and Prep Upgrade.

Option 2:

Use one of the following workarounds.

  • Instead of duplicating the field and then converting the duplicate to string, create a STR([Original]) calculated field in one step.
  • Convert the flat file to a .hyper and use the .hyper in the flow instead.
