Error "Authorization request timed out" When Connecting to Salesforce

Issue

When connecting Tableau to Salesforce, after the message "Tableau created this window to authenticate. It is now safe to close it." is displayed in the default browser, the following error may occur in Tableau:

Error Code: 548D1061
Authorization request timed out. The user may have closed the browser or cancelled the request.

Resolution

Identify your organization's Salesforce edition by following the steps in Find Salesforce Edition and API version.
Refer to Salesforce editions with API access to determine whether your organization's Salesforce edition has API access, and for information on how to enable API access.
