Error "Authentication token has expired. The user must authenticate again." When Connecting to Snowflake

When attempting to load a workbook connected to a Snowflake data source, the views are blank and the following error message might intermittently occur: 

"Unable to connect to the data source. Try connecting again. If the problem persist, disconnect from the data source and contact the data source owner. Authentication token has expired. The user must authenticate again."

Option 1

As a Tableau Server Administrator, upgrade to Tableau Server 2018.1.3, 10.5.6 or 10.4.9 or a later version. For more information, see Upgrading Tableau Server in Tableau Help. 

Option 2

As an alternative workaround, please try republishing one workbook with the affected Snowflake datasource to temporarily restore the ability to view published content. 


This behavior is related to a known issue (ID: 769297) which has been fixed in a recent release of Tableau Server.
