Issue
When attempting to add a new user to a Tableau Cloud site, the following error occurs:
An unexpected error occurred

Environment
Tableau CloudResolution
Workaround
Reset the user's password and then attempt to add the user again:

Enter the users email address
-
Have the user open the email and select the link to create a new password

Re-add the user to the Tableau Cloud site
If the above steps do not resolve the issue and the email cannot be located, please contact Tableau Technical Support. The email will still be sent in most cases even though the user was not added.
Cause
