Earlier Versions of Bridge Receive "Could not sign in from a connected client application"

Issue

Earlier versions of Tableau Bridge Client are unable to connect to Tableau Online 2021.4 and errors are received:

"Could not sign in from a connected client application. To Try to resolve this error, open a web browser, sign into online.tableau.com, and on your account setting, clear connected clients"

Resolution

  1. Upgrade to the latest release of Tableau Bridge 20214.21.1217.2252 or later
  2. Ensure "allow connected clients" is enables in the Authentication settings for Tableau Online.

When user tried to login to Bridge client, error message “Could not sign in from a connected client application. To try to resolve this error, open a web browser, sign in to online, tableau.com, and on your account settings page, clear connected clients.”
