"Download Data" Does Not Honor the Currently Selected Worksheet When Viewing With Internet Explorer 11 in Tableau Server 10.5 and Later

Issue

After a user has viewed and interacted with a worksheet (for example, Worksheet A) on a published dashboard, using Internet Explorer 11 and a Tableau Server version 10.5 or later, the "Download Data" option will download Worksheet A, even if the user has now clicked on the title of a different worksheet, and is viewing this second worksheet.

Environment

Tableau Server 10.5.3 and later
Internet Explorer 11
Published dashboard with multiple worksheets

Resolution

To correct this problem, follow the workaround below:

First, clear any selection in the viz including the Download button and Crosstab. Clicking on any "white space" outside the viz will clear selected areas in the viz. Alternatively, select or interact with data in the second worksheet (worksheet to be downloaded).
You can now select the Download button in order to download the worksheet.

Additional Information

This problem is specific to Microsoft Internet Explorer (IE) version 11. When viewing with a different browser, a user can click on a the title of a second Worksheet, and the "Download Data" option will then download the second worksheet.
