Cannot Connect To Presto After Upgrade Tableau Server To 2020.3

Cannot Connect To Presto After Upgrade Tableau Server to 2020., and the following error could be confirmed when connecting to Presto.

[Simba][Presto] (1020) Error with HTTP API at https://XXXX : Peer certificate cannot be authenticated with given CA certificates


  • Tableau Server (After 2020.3)


You should take the following steps after upgrading Tableau Server or after installing Tableau Server.

1. Delete all ODBC driver package and configurations.
  •      If Tableau Server is installed on Windows, please uninstall the SimbaPresto from [Control Panel] > [Uninstall a Program].
  •      If Tableau Server is installed on CentOS, please take the following steps.
           1-1.  Delete Presto ODBC connector package.     
                sudo yum remove SimbaPrestoODBC-64bit-1.1.17-1.x86_64

           2-1.  The following lines may be found in ODBC connector configuration file /etc/odbcinst.ini.
                Please delete all configurations written in /etc/odbcinst.ini about Presto.

                 Description=Simba Presto ODBC Driver(64-bit) 

 2.Download the JDBC driver and place the file into the JDBC driver folders.
        The newest JDBC driver could be download from the following site.
         Driver Download
        JDBC driver directory:
              Windows: C:\Program Files\Tableau\Drivers
              Linux:  /opt/tableau/tableau_driver/jdbc


  • To connect Presto, Tableau started to use the JDBC connector from 2020.3, but before 2020.2, Tableau Server was using the ODBC connector.
  • If not changing the driver, Tableau Server will still try to use the ODBC connector to connect Presto.
  • This error message may also occur when there is an issue related to the certificate used. See articles in Related links.
