- Tableau Server 10.5.0
- Windows Server 2012
ResolutionThis behavior is expected. Because user filters are domain-specific, whenever the domain of Tableau Server changes, user filters in workbooks created before the import will break.
Although the list of usernames (with domains) is populated from Tableau Server, User Filters are stored in the workbook or data source to which they are applied.
- Importing a site does not alter the contents of workbooks.
- Importing a site to a Tableau Server deployment with a different authentication type (e.g., from Active Directory to Local) does change the domain.
Additional InformationBecause group filters are not bound to a specific domain, so long as the mappings are properly configured, unlike user filters, group filters will not break when changing the authentication type and/or domain of Tableau Server.
