Issue

When using an external monitor without an ultra-high resolution screen like a Retina display, fonts and texts in Tableau Desktop may appear as fuzzy, blurry, or excessively thin and difficult to read.

Environment

  • Tableau Desktop
  • macOS Mojave

Resolution

Try the options or combinations in How to Fix Blurry Fonts on Mac OS X High Sierra and Mojave.

  • [Option1] - Enabling Font Smoothing in macOS High Sierra and Mojave via System Preferences.
  • [Option2] - Enabling Font Smoothing in macOS High Sierra and Mojave vía Terminal.
  • [Option3] - Adjusting the Mac Font Smoothing Settings via Defaults.

Cause

In many cases, blurry text or fonts are related to macOS's setting.
