After Tableau Cloud Updated To 2020.2, Views Are Broken Since Some "Number of Records" Fields Can Not Be Used Anymore

Published workbooks using [Number of Records] in the views may be broken after the Tableau Cloud or Tableau Server upgraded to 2020.2.0. The [Number of Records] field is missing or been changed like the following:

  • [Number of Records 1]
  • [Number of Records 1 1 1 1 1 1 1 1 1]


  • Tableau Server 2020.2.0
  • Tableau Cloud 2020.2
  • Treasure Data
  • Alteryx


For Tableau Cloud
This issue has been resolved.

For Tableau Server
Option 1

Upgrade to Tableau Server 2020.2.1 or above.

Option 2
Manually edit views on the Web and replace invalid [Number of Records] field with [Migrated Data (Count)].
(The [Migrated Data (Count)] is the new replacement for "Number of Records")

This was a known issue that was addressed in Tableau Cloud, and on Tableau Server 2020.2.1 or above.
